Android for Work is a new Android software improvement premiered by Google at Google I/0 2014. Android for Work gives Android device users the ability to run both personal and work enabled versions of applications. This means that all of your user login information and data inside of the apps remains separated so that you don’t have to worry about security issues as your work content and personal content no longer overlap. This software update is something that is going to be native to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but Google has promised to make to make this capability available to Android users back to Ice Cream Sandwich. After installing this update Android users will have a new Work Profiles feature that is used for the content separation. Some new business centric app versions will also be installed alongside a new Google Play Store named Google Play for Work. Google Play for Work will give you access to even more business oriented applications as Google moves to ensure that Android becomes a stronger part of the mobile DNA of companies. Overall this is a huge step for Android into the enterprise market space with big and exciting things yet to come.
